Hello -
I would be interested in a study that uses almost the same data set, but looks at the DNS hosting for the zones in question. What provider does each zone utilize? What company or organization provides the DNS authoritative service? In what nation is that organization housed? This can be determined by combinations of hostnames of DNS authoritative servers, and/or the ASN in which those v4/v6 addresses reside. There may be many which are mixes of operators, and that data would also be interesting.
Extra credit: which zones operate with DNSSEC security? This is just a one-bit answer that can generate a whole new map of "yes/no" data.
(transparency/disclaimer: I work for Quad9, a Zürich-based recursive DNS operator; we do not provide authoritative services, but it is an interesting question)
