From f8a68b7022fcc007f25be6726a5da980059f1052 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Brett Mastbergen Date: Wed, 21 Oct 2026 14:09:03 -0400 Subject: [PATCH 1/2] ALSA: usb-audio: Fix potential out-of-bound accesses for Extigy and Mbox devices MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit jira VULN-46738 cve CVE-2024-53197 commit-author Benoît Sevens commit b909df18ce2a998afef81d58bbd1a05dc0788c40 commit-source-sha 0b4ea4bfe16566b84645ded1403756a2dc4e0f19 commit-source 4.19.y commit b909df18ce2a998afef81d58bbd1a05dc0788c40 upstream. A bogus device can provide a bNumConfigurations value that exceeds the initial value used in usb_get_configuration for allocating dev->config. This can lead to out-of-bounds accesses later, e.g. in usb_destroy_configuration. Doing DMA to the stack is not portable all architectures. Move the "new_device_descriptor" from being stored on the stack and allocate it with kmalloc() instead.
