1. review the current contents of the repository,
2. remove redundant contents if any,
3. remove contents no longer needed in this repo, and
4. condense/rename if necessary.

In particular, I don't know if the contents of Examples, Python, R, and misc are needed or if they should be updated.

If the notebook in Examples is still desired, perhaps a better option is to put it in a Jupyter book (e.g., Taweret) hosted by this repo's GitHub page.

Assigning to @mpratola, who has some ideas about how to improve. We agreed that the main goal of a first round of cleaning is to minimize and organize the contents so that what we present to users for the BAND v1.0 release via the repo contents and documentation is clean and correct. For example, we might

• remove the R folder for now,
• create an issue for adding in R later, and
• convey in the user guide that R support will eventually be added (with a link to the Issue).
