Return Key M5 Mac OS26.5.1 in ver 1.6.9 opens Dictate fcn

Describe the bug

Pressing Return opens Dictate; as does right-option

1.6.9 + M5/macOS 26.5.1; bare Return invokes Primary Dictation regardless of configured primary shortcut; quitting FluidVoice restores normal Return behavior; disabling Edit Mode and changing primary shortcut do not correct it.

• Return works normally when FluidVoice is quit.
• Return invokes exactly the same Dictation function as your designated Right Option shortcut.
• Changing the FluidVoice shortcut to Ctrl-Option-D does not release Return.
• Disabling Edit Mode doesn't affect it.
• Accessibility reset/conflict testing doesn't affect it.
  That combination strongly suggests FluidVoice has an erroneous/stale key binding in its global event listener that isn't represented in the Settings interface.

• Return works normally when FluidVoice is quit.

Happy to help out, but I’m off for a trip for the balance of the day. I would need your help in terms of gathering logs. I did refer to 1.6.8 and didn’t happen to notice the same problem, but I wasn’t specifically looking for it either. With 1.6.9 it was however quite obvious that every time I hit return I was opening the Dictation box for what it’s worth, I did work with ChatGPT to troubleshoot the problem, but nothing they suggested alleviated it. I’ll give him more formal trial to 1.6.8 tomorrow before I reach out to you.

The problem remains on both of my Macs M1 and M5. It is somewhat unpredictable on the M5. At times when I hit return, the dictation window opens. This, however, does not occur every time. On the M1 iif I hit function-backspace (to delete the current character), the same occurs, i.e. the dictaation box opens Only the window is white, not black and Yes I can dictate into it. On both machines the right Otion Key is my preset dictation key. When I'm having problems with the return key on the M1 Mac - i.e. the dictation box opens and I don't have a return or enter function - I have found that hitting function-return aloows me to achieve the desired return, i.e. I am able to achieve the desired return or enter function. I have not changed any keyboard settings, and none of these problems occur when Fluid Voice is not running. The M5 Mac is running 1.6.9. The M1 1.6.8. At times I will opend dictation - especially on the M5 (1.6.9) and if I don't say anything or a few seconds "Yeah" will appear on the screen or some borderline meaningfully text unrelated to anything I am working one. Also on the M5 my dictated text appears in the text box but when I hit the right Option key again I get a phrase such as "Understood. I'm ready to clean your dictated text whenever you provide it." but not the dictated text that had appeared in the dictation box.

1. Yeah, the prompt issue is something that is totally different and we can deal with it on the side.

2. The yeah and other things that appear is because of the noise and once you start talking it will probably go away because that just because of the initial sound that comes out of FluidVoice and also other noise around it, that is all of very less confidence, so that shouldn't be a problem technically once you start talking.

3. Will you be able to somehow reproduce it? Because I am willing to work on this today, but I need a way to see if my solutions are fixing the problem, or at least get some logs in general so that I can see how this gets triggered. A lot of people are facing it recently, but it's very hard to reproduce it, so I'm not sure how to go about fixing this.

Can you reproduce this deterministically in some way that you do?

I have never seen this problem even once, or the code doesn't say anything about it, specifically. The only way to fix this is probably log more things and get it from you when it happens to you again.

Which should I plan to work on the machine with 1.6.8 or 1.6.9. Today at least the M1 with 1.6.8 is having the lion share problems but since you have a leader version, you might prefer that. NS
