I tested this on Android 16 and manually adjusting the permissions makes it work for me. You can work around it with:
adb shell "chmod 775 /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.APPNAME.android/files/Camera1/ && chmod 664 /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.APPNAME.android/files/Camera1/virtual.mp4"

Thanks for the hint with private directories and permissions, I used the old version v4.4, in your mod it does NOT work in the gui buttons, you can't enable/disable settings
