Washed-out colors and gray haze in Facebook Reels on Samsung Galaxy
#307
Hi! Thank you for your work on this patcher.
I'm experiencing a graphics issue when watching Facebook Reels on my Samsung Galaxy
The video image develops a grayish, washed-out haze, with reduced contrast and faded colors. Interestingly, changing the volume temporarily restores the correct colors while the system volume overlay is visible. As soon as the volume overlay disappears, the washed-out appearance returns.
I tested the Developer Options setting “Disable HW overlays”, and enabling it completely fixes the issue. However, keeping this option enabled increases battery consumption, so it is not a suitable permanent workaround.
I also tested the available options to force SDR playback and disable HDR brightness, but neither fixed the problem.
Could you investigate whether this issue can be fixed through a dedicated Facebook patch? The behavior may involve video rendering, Surface composition, or an interaction between Facebook's graphics pipeline and Samsung's One UI graphics stack.
Ideally, the patch would keep video colors and contrast correct without requiring “Disable HW overlays” to remain enabled, while preserving smooth playback and avoiding unnecessary GPU load or battery consumption.
If useful, I can provide a screen recording demonstrating the issue and additional diagnostic information.
Thank you for your time and for considering this!
