docs: explain installing where developer verification is enforced
Since 2026-09-30 certified phones in Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand hold back installs from developers not registered with Google, and it goes global in 2027. Installing now covers the advanced flow (Allow apps from unverified developers, a one-day wait) and adb install, which is exempt, and says it's unconfirmed whether a browser download is refused outright or only warned. Quick start links to it.

2. **Run the setup wizard.** Phone and SMS access and the Call Screening role are required when Android supports screening. Notifications, Notification Access and Overlay are optional. Notification Access powers the RCS filter, push-alert caller trust and meeting mode, and Overlay shows live caller ID. The review at the end says what each skipped grant turns off.

3. **Pick a protection level.** Setup ends with Recommended, Strict or Contacts only. Recommended keeps the default call and text controls. Strict adds aggressive call checks, blocks hidden callers and turns on quiet hours. Contacts only lets contacts and trusted numbers ring. Home and Settings switch levels later with Undo, and **Run setup again** in Settings walks through everything once more.

4. **Let it sync.** Home runs the first database sync by itself. After that the database is checked every six hours and the trending feeds every 30 minutes.

### Phones that block apps from unregistered developers
483+
484+
Since 2026-09-30, certified Android phones in Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore and
485+
Thailand enforce Google's developer verification, and Google plans to extend it
486+
to every country in 2027. A phone that enforces it holds back the normal install
487+
of an app whose developer hasn't registered with Google, and CallShield ships
488+
from GitHub without that registration. There are two ways around it.
489+
490+
1. **The advanced flow.** Turn on Developer options (tap **Build number** seven
491+
times in **Settings → About phone**), then open **Developer options**, which
492+
many phones keep under **Settings → System**. Turn on **Allow apps from
493+
unverified developers** and follow the prompts. Android makes you wait one
494+
day before the switch takes effect. After that the APK installs from your
495+
browser or file manager as usual.
496+
2. **ADB.** An install over USB is exempt:
497+
498+
```bash
499+
adb install CallShield-vX.Y.Z.apk
500+
```
501+
502+
It isn't confirmed yet whether a phone in those countries refuses a downloaded
503+
APK outright or warns first. If you're there and run into either, an issue with
504+
your phone model and Android version would help pin it down.
