HanReader
Copyright (c) 2026 OpenIPC and HanReader contributors
================================================================================
SCOPE OF THE MIT LICENSE
================================================================================
The MIT License in the LICENSE file applies to the HanReader source code:
everything in this repository EXCEPT the contents of the Dictionaries/
directory, which is third-party data distributed under its own license.
Source code (Sources/, Apps/, Tests/, Scripts/, Docs/) -> MIT
Dictionaries/cc-cedict/ -> CC BY-SA
Note further that a dictionary database generated from CC-CEDICT data is an
Adapted Work under CC BY-SA, and is therefore itself licensed CC BY-SA at the
version its source declares -- not MIT. This matters the moment anyone
publishes a prebuilt dictionary database as a release artifact, or distributes
a built application containing one. The two licenses coexist; they do not
merge.
(This statement lives here rather than in LICENSE because automated license
detection requires LICENSE to contain only the license text.)

THIRD-PARTY MATERIAL
================================================================================
This product includes third-party material. See THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.md for the
complete list of components, their licenses, and the attribution statements
those licenses require.
In particular, HanReader bundles CC-CEDICT, a Chinese-English dictionary
licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike. The pinned
snapshot's exact version is recorded in Dictionaries/cc-cedict/SOURCE.json
and quoted in that directory's README.
See Dictionaries/cc-cedict/ for the data, its license, and its attribution.
HanReader does NOT bundle or redistribute the BKRS / 大БКРС Chinese-Russian
dictionary. It ships an importer only; users supply their own data.
