Power Supply Connections Confirmation #84

This is probably an achingly obvious question for the learned folk here, but I beg your indulgence to make sure I don't let the magic smoke out of the BC250... I have received my Redux case. It came with a power connector which I believe plugs into the two identical power sockets closest to the end of the board. In addition I plug in a 2+6 pin connector that came with the power supply (Metalfish 550M). So the board ends up looking like this. 
The other end of all three cables plugs into the PSU in slots marked as PCI-E&/CPU. The 24 pin from the power switch plugs into the ATX slot on the PSU which is pretty self evident. As I understand, all that is doing is switching the power supply on. Appreciate your confirmation that I've got this correct! |

Sorry I missed this post completely. You don't need to use the PCI-E cable that come with the PSU, just use my cable, its rated for 600w, also the Metalfish wire loom is rubbish, the wiring is magnetic, I don't trust it, my wiring is actually copper, but, if you want to connect the PCI-E cable as well, you can, there wont be any issues, all 12v and ground feeds are connected by two large tracks on the underside of the BC250. |

Not a problem! Thanks for your reply. It was good to confirm the board I received powered up and seems to be OK. Appreciate the feedback on the quality of the cables supplied with the Metalfish. Sounds like a decent quality PCI-E cable should be on the shopping list. |
