Hitting rate limit for posts, any way to reconfigure? #2145

Description

@sa0v

Describe the bug

I believe that I am experiencing an issue in which, if I post too often and regularly (e.g. a picture dump to Mbin), after probably about 25 or so threads, I started getting an error message that was very generic and unhelpful (something along the lines of "cannot create thread, an error occurred"). I'm currently uploading images to my test server to try and trigger the error message again. In either case, I don't think this is a bug per se, but perhaps an internal rate limit that's being hit...unfortunately there is no indication as to when or how it will expire, so I'm not sure if it's expected behaviour.

On which Mbin instance did you find the bug?
Private (server still in development)

Which Mbin version was running on the instance?
1.10.0-rc2

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Post several threads in quick succession to the same magazine. A good example is posting a picture dump where each picture posted is in an individual thread.
  2. Eventually a rate limit of some sort is hit and an error message is returned if any additional threads are posted.

Expected behavior
Obviously posts should be rate limited, but perhaps a way to configure it or an indication of when the delay will expire would be more intuitive.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: macOS 26.5
  • Browser: Brave
  • Browser Version: 1.90.124

Additional context
If I can provide any further information please let me know!
